Mathias Harrer is a research associate and PhD candidate at the Technical University of Munich. He also works as a researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and as a statistical consultant at HelloBetter (Berlin & Hamburg). Starting from 2020, Mathias Harrer has been a fellow at the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (BIDT).
Mathias’s research centers on applying biostatistical and technological methods—including machine learning, predictive modeling, and sensing—to develop intelligent, Internet-based intervention systems aimed at preventing and treating mental disorders.
Another area of Mathias Harrer’s research are statistical methods for research synthesis and meta-analysis of clinical trials, as well as the development of statistical software.
Mathias Harrer is coordinator of the special interest group "Meta-Analytic Psychotherapy Research and Evidence Synthesis" within the German Society for Psychology (meta-syn.de).
